Annapolis Sailboat Show 2024
Hanse Yachts and SAIL magazine are excited to announce Rockstars & Legends, an exclusive event during the Annapolis Sailboat Show. Gain insights from racing rockstar Cole Brauer and cruising legend Lin Pardey, discover the spirit of passagemaking, the impact of self-reliance, and the power of storytelling.
Larry and Lin Pardey epitomize the spirit of adventurous sailing, covering over 200,000 miles in 47 years on two self-built, engineless cutters under 30 feet. Lin has become a legendary figure in the sailing community, authoring numerous books that have inspired generations of sailors to adopt a simple, go-now approach. Together with her husband, they built and sailed the 24-foot Seraffyn and the 29-foot Taleisin around the world, even tackling the Great Capes against the wind.
After Larry's passing in 2020, Lin continued her sailing adventures, mentoring young cruisers and writers. Her new book, "Passages: Cape Horn and Beyond", is set to be published in October, with SAIL offering an exclusive chapter excerpt and review in the same month.
Cole Brauer is a trailblazing sailor, renowned as the first American woman to race solo and nonstop around the globe. Competing in the 2023-24 Global Solo Challenge, she sailed a Class40 boat named First Light, securing second place in March 2024. During her journey, she captivated half a million Instagram followers with engaging updates from some of the most remote and challenging waters on Earth. Her remarkable story has been featured in prominent media outlets, including SAIL, The New York Times, and CNN.
Our cooperation event with SAIL magazine will be held on Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, 4 P.M. at Jack C. Taylor Conference Center, U.S. Naval Academy, 291 Wood Road, Annapolis, MD. Both the conversation and the QA section, will be moderated by SAIL Editor-in-Chief Wendy Mitman Clarke and Managing Editor Lydia Mullan.
